All that one can do is to install on another computer with the same keys but can have different values. Stand alone Family Plan is not really for family, which means no separate accounts.

That Family plan doesn’t qualify for Pro Features without paying for it again. My wife cannot have Pro Features on her iPhone app though. I’m using v6 Pro Features and I’m happy with it. I purchased 1Password Family stand alone back in 2012 for $70. It frustrates me, as I believe Agile Bits is the best company in this field, tech-wise. I like to pay once and be done with it - but I cannot. TL DR: I do not need any of the "features" provided by an account & the subscription. Against your will (Stay on v4 on Windows or register+subscription to get v7) and without any tangible benefit, apart form the 2fa, in my case. It is your software-solution being moved from your local hemisphere, a once "controlable" (by way of feeling, not actuality) environment, into a outsourced and interdependend, "connected/synced" environment. Then I realized that I needed "an account" on their servers/homepage to do anything in the new version. When I looked at the v7 of 1Password I liked it. I own my car, I own my house and I want to own my password-solution.

What does this (as a long-time-user) tell me? For one subscription-based-payment will be the only way a few years down the road. 2 hours! I resorted to sending sales an email. I literally scoured their homepage, google, their support forums and this sub for a link to buy a standalone version for about 2 hours.

I pay monthly nearly as much as my annual 1Password costs for good software with a development team I hate because it does the job, but I’m much happier with the money I give AgileBits because I like them, too :-) I pay a lot more for software I like a lot less as a business owner. And I had the Teams premium-for-standard release deal, which they let me keep as long as I wanted even after discontinuing new plan sales and releasing Business-but I switched to Business for more money because of the value of free Family plans. I don’t think it’s likely 1Password subscription pricing will get more expensive any time soon, I think it’s quite reasonable for the development efforts including around security and running a secure web service, and frankly after years on the Family plan I’m now paying around $750 per year for all my employees to have Business memberships (which include FREE Family memberships on top of that). And LastPass is owned by LogMeIn, the company known for lying and jacking up prices by hundreds of times previous, and recently increased LastPass pricing (unsurprisingly). They haven’t changed prices for subscriptions from when they released subscription. We'll always be marked by an official flair, and will always love both 1Password and you.
